We planned our Road Trip to go through Texas, but then Hurricane Harvey happened and we had to reroute after we had already arrived at our first destination.
Rock City, Georgia.
The sights are absolutely beautiful from atop the mountain, where you can see seven states: Tennessee; Kentucky; Virginia; North Carolina; South Carolina; Georgia; Alabama.
There is a cute bridge that you can cross for an amazing view and photos:
When you look down, it isn’t so high up, but some people may like to take the alternative path…
Once you’re across the bridge, that’s when you’ll see the amazing waterfall and the Mount Lookout peak where 7 states can be seen.
I absolutely love waterfalls, we saw quite a few of them on our road trip!
This was absolutely one of my favorite places. I love Georgia, there is so much to see it’s really quite overwhelming. We’ve also been to Savannah, Georgia, which I highly recommend as well!
The sunlight shines through these stained glass windows in the side of the cliff. It makes for a very beautiful view.
After following the trail for a bit, and seeing amazing flowers along the way…
Then we come across Fairyland Caverns!
Jen absolutely loved it, you’ll see why.
The walls are decorated with various stones and unique rocks, it really looks magical.
Once you’re inside, there are cute exhibits for the kids (and adults will appreciate it too!).
Everything is lit up in these caverns with a fairy-tale style. It’s really a fun experience from start to finish!
This was our first stop on our journey. We stayed at a place through AirBnB for a very low price (about $40).
We didn’t use any hotels on the entire journey and found that AirBnB provided a much better experience.
This is just the beginning, we’ll be posting soon with more amazing tales from our road trip! We hope you’ve enjoyed this sneak peak into Rock City, Georgia!
